New strategy 2021-23: The UN Global Compact aims to make corporate sustainability more visible.

05.04.2021 Almost 13.000 companies from 160 countries have signed the United Nations Global Compact UNGC. The pact, which was founded 21 years ago, is therefore the world's largest network for corporate responsibility. Since size alone is not a success, the UNGC wants to accelerate the commitment of its members to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals SDG and the climate goals through a new strategy. This provides for companies to make their progress more measurable in the form of expanded reporting. Equality (SDG 5) and decent work (SDG 8) are named as new focus topics, as are climate protection (SDG 13), peace, justice and strong institutions (SDG 16) and partnerships (SDG 17). Offers specially tailored to SMEs, new network offices in China, the USA and in developing regions as well as more active cooperation between the United Nations and companies are also part of the new strategy.
