The German government currently wants 1.800 companies to know how to exercise their human rights due diligence - respect for human rights in the company and in the value chain. The survey will be repeated next year, then the results will be published. If the self-commitment of the economy that at least half of the big companies have effective mechanisms up to 2020 are not met, there is legal regulation in the room. A pragmatic way, which often leads heated debates in this country about voluntariness. Laws are given too little attention. Because: Entrepreneurial responsibility is in itself a positive value added concept. Therefore, the development of effective company-specific activities at the interface with society needs room for maneuver and can not be prescribed. Legal obligations should therefore only be used when voluntary approaches do not lead to the desired result.
