Again this year, the United Nations Global Compact corporate network has selected “SDG Pioneers” in ten categories: executives who are committed to achieving the global goals for sustainable development, the SDG, in their companies. This year the jury was looking for managers younger than 35 years old. Murtaza Ahmed, 34, managing director of the jeans manufacturer Artistic Milliners in Pakistan, who has energy-efficient factories built, consistently promotes women's careers and supports education and training projects, was one of the most convincing. The 26-year-old Muchtazar, who, as environmental and sustainability officer of the Unilever Group, has set up a waste and recycling system in several Indonesian cities, also received an award.
The next SDG competition is already in preparation: Until 6. December, companies can submit SDG contributions to the Global SDG Awards.
