Not only among the first vacationers, but also economically, a corona recovery is slowly emerging. The fact that the International Monetary Fund is forecasting growth for the euro zone is also a source of relief. According to the IMF, the economic recovery in emerging and developing countries will be more rapid than in Europe - even if there is a large regional spread. The belief in developing regions as future markets is unbroken, if not even strengthened, among the internationalization pioneers among Austrian companies. One reason for this is likely to be that the pandemic has had relatively little impact on the business of these companies in emerging and developing countries. In lockdowns and with closed borders, they scored points with local structures and thus more autonomy and customer proximity. The often risky investments paid off, especially during the crisis - for domestic companies as well as for local economic development.
