02.09.2021 The Kofi Annan Award for Innovations in Africa is in the starting blocks - a new initiative with which the Federal Chancellery would like to intensify Austrian-African relations. Specifically, the award aims to identify three particularly promising African social entrepreneurs who, with their business models, primarily address problems relating to social issues and sustainability. The winners each receive 250.000 euros in funding and benefit from a support network with international stakeholders from the fields of business, science and development cooperation. The assessment and selection process is carried out by the Federal Chancellery together with the Kofi Annan Foundation, the Innovation Accelerator of the World Food Program and the Austrian Development Agency. The kick-off for the award will take place on September 29, 2021.
